What is the PTE Exam?

The PTE Academic, also known as the Pearson Test of English Academic is a technology test English language test. This test was launched by Pearson in 2009 and was specifically designed as an assessment for non-natives who do not have English as their first language. This test helps to check if they were prepared to enroll in a university-level course conducted in English.

It is common knowledge that to study abroad or be eligible for immigration in any foreign country, you need to take an English Proficiency test. Most of us are familiar with IELTS or TOEFL as the commonly used English proficiency exam for this purpose.  The PTE exam is a recent addition to this lineup and was launched to meet the growing need by governments, educational institutions, and other such organizations for a more accurate and easily accessible method of testing students worldwide. PTE English test format: Main Features

Now, what is the PTE English test format is? The PTE (The Pearson Test of English Academic) is a 3-hour test and consisting of 3 sections. Speaking and Writing is considered a single section. This is followed by the Reading section and lastly the listening section. The entire Exam is completed in a single sitting. However, the time required for each Individual section varies from around 1-and-half hours for the Speaking and Writing Part to less than 45 minutes for the Reading Section.

Despite having both Speaking and Writing in 1 section, the final results are scored based on the four basic communicative skills: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.  Each communicative skill of the PTE is scored out of 90. There is also an overall score which is calculated from your scores in each section. The highest overall score one can achieve is also out of 90.

PTE involves tackling a total of 20 different question types. This test is specifically designed for non-native speakers and hence each question type challenges the test taker’s language proficiency for a different scenario. PTE Exam Cost in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The PTE exam cost in Dhaka, Bangladesh is pretty cheap compared to most other countries in the world. To register for a test, you need to first Sign up at Pearson’s website. After creating an ID one can schedule their test at a suitable date and pay the PTE exam fee online through their website.

The PTE exam cost in Dhaka is BDT 16,200 only. If online registration is a problem, the PEC-Education center provides an option to do the PTE Exam Registration for the concerned students free of cost. Then as our student, all you need to do is focus on your preparation and arrive at the test center on the required date and time.

Where to take the PTE English test in Bangladesh.

Since PTE was introduced in 2009, the test has widely spread all over the globe. Test centers were set up and as of now, there is a test center network of more than 250 locations worldwide.

TUV SUD is the official PTE test center in Bangladesh. TÜV SÜD, a German consultancy and certification giant partnered with Pearson to avail aspiring students with a facility to undertake English Proficiency Exams like the PTE. If you wish to register for the PTE test you can schedule a test just 2 days in advance without any additional cost through the Pearson website. In case of an emergency, booking a test just 24 hours prior is also a possibility, however, you will need to incur some additional costs.

Anyone wishing to sit for the PTE exam in Bangladesh will have two PTE test centers in Dhaka, Bangladesh to choose from. One PTE Test Center is located at Uttara, Sector 6 and the other center is in Dhanmondi- 27. Two test slots are available each day, 7 days a week. The morning slot is at 10:00 A.M. and the afternoon slot is at 2:30 P.M. The Dhanmondi center is closed on Fridays while the Uttara center takes Saturdays off. On these days, in particular, you will need to register for a test with the other center.

PTE English Test Training in Bangladesh

It is an irrefutable reality that the number of students aspiring to study abroad has increased exponentially over the last few years.
